I’d rather ride my motorcycle thinking about my business than sit in my office thinking about my motorcycle…

About
The Man Behind The Biker's Guide

Dwain DeVille is the founder of WaterMark International, Inc., a consultancy that serves business leaders. Prior to that, Dwain spent 15 years in commercial banking and developed a solid background in turn around management, product development, lending and community / governmental relations.

Watermark’s approach centers on Dwain’s innovative Process of Navigation, developed to guide businesses – small and large – through the challenges they face when they are trying to reach the next level of performance.

In the 16 years since founding WaterMark, Dwain has worked with more than one hundred startup and growing businesses, along the way developing a keen awareness of the pitfalls that these enterprises often encounter. Known for his laid-back, engaging style, Dwain connects with people in all levels of the organization earning the respect and trust of his clients – leading to long-term business relationships.

But as much as Dwain loves the challenges of business, he loves to ride his motorcycle even more. And after decades of enjoying both, he’s grown equally at home in the boardroom and in the saddle.

In the summer of 2007, while enjoying a high-country Colorado tour, he decided the time had come to combine his two passions. After rolling up a few thousand more miles in the saddle, conducting dozens of business workshops and chatting with entrepreneurs who love to ride, Dwain’s idea began to take shape. It was to bring together the best and brightest CEOs and entrepreneurs to share their business experiences and ride together. It is from this shared passion that The Biker’s Guide to Business was born.

Along with the book, published by John Wiley and Sons in August 2009, The Biker's Guide to Business offers today’s Business-Biker workshops, consulting, public speaking and the wildly popular, Retreat on Wheels. Each specifically designed to assist entrepreneurs in reaching the next level of performance in their organizations.

Based in Orlando, Dwain enjoys riding every month of the year. He rides regularly – both solo and with groups – and has toured many parts of the country. After all the miles he’s traveled, the appeal of motorcycling remains as strong to him today as it was at the age of 16, when he first threw his leg over that Honda 100.

Dwain has one grown son and is a cancer survivor.
